There's a lot that goes into "making complex look simple", which is why we're looking for an IT Technical Operations Lead to join our IT team. This is a unique opportunity to work in our buzzing office in Vienna together with our team of open-minded, genuinely caring professionals with many different backgrounds.


As an IT Technical Operations Lead at SMARTASSISTANT, you will be part of our growing IT team and you will be involved in:

  • Providing technical leadership to the IT Operations team that provides system operations, change management, configuration management, user support, IT security, database administration, and training. This team includes application, systems, and user support engineers who maintain the high availability of a portfolio of browser-based, thick client, and mobile software applications.
  • Collaborating with the IT Security Lead to monitor for security compliance in accordance with industry standards
  • Planning and installing the appropriate system needs of SMARTASSISTANT
  • Solving problems connected to the network and the systems
  • Planning and Implementing security measures
  • Monitoring security measures and making sure the system is not coming under attack
  • Ensuring that all the separate elements of the system are working together properly
  • Trying out great free and commercial solutions to improve our logging, monitoring, backup and other solutions
  • Performance and resource utilization optimization
  • Supporting the software development processes - maintenance of build servers, version control tools, backup and restore processes
  • Maintaining corporate security policies and the company network configuration
  • Support the company's internal infrastructure - Windows, Linux, Mac

  • Strong technical background in systems administration and software application support
  • Lead troubleshooting, recovery, and root cause analysis efforts. Coordinate with application leads for advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for application support and maintenance
  • Ability to develop and maintain a high performing IT operations team
  • IT Security-related qualifications are a plus
  • Completed IT education
  • Good Linux knowledge and experience in Java environment
  • Good knowledge of MySQL DBMS and shell programming skills
  • Basic knowledge in the field of virtualization, Docker knowledge
  • Friendly personality and joy for teamwork
  • Full working proficiency in English
  • Enthusiasm for e-commerce, online solutions, and related technologies
