People Ops Fall Intern

Slack is looking for an intern to work alongside our People Team (what we call our HR Team!) as a People Operations intern for the fall of 2018. This internship is a unique opportunity for someone pursuing an MA or MS in organizational development or related field who wishes to gain hands-on experience working with people and data to improve our employee programs and initiatives at Slack. You will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team and will be paired with one of our People Partners who will act as your mentor throughout the fall. Together you will help Slack’s People Team better understand what our employees need in order to do the best work of their careers at Slack!

Our ideal candidate will understand the fundamental concepts of organizational effectiveness, have strong analytical and logical reasoning skills, as well as excellent communication skills in order to help with driving people programs at scale. We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, has a positive attitude, and an eagerness to jump in and help fix things!

Responsibilities:

Support the People Partner team with building and improving programs related to engagement, performance and effectiveness.

Make recommendations and deliver on high-priority projects informed by our annual engagement survey.

Assist the People Partners with problem-solving and navigating people-related challenges.

Requirements:

Positive “can do” attitude and growth mindset.

Ability to problem-solve and think critically through complex people situations.

Comfortable managing projects from end to end.

People oriented and ability to partner with individuals at all levels.

Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Effective, clear, and concise communication skills.

Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Must be able to work full time in our San Francisco office.

Graduating December 2018 or later.
