Developer Product Marketing Manager

Slack is seeking a Developer Product Marketing Manager to join our Platform Marketing team and help more developers build great apps on top of the Slack platform. Day to day activities will include things like meeting developers to find out what they need, producing great content, and partnering with other teams at Slack to get developers the right tools and resources. We are looking for someone who understands what will be most helpful to an audience of developers because they are a developer, as well. The ideal candidate will also be able to communicate comprehensively about Slack and our API, run our developer facing marketing efforts, and help us build a thriving ecosystem for developers who are building apps that work with Slack.

  • Help us define the story around our developer products and communicate about those products to help increase the number of apps built on top of the Slack API
  • Grow our developer community and use the momentum around the Slack platform to help us build a movement
  • Define and measure the size and health of our community and continuously benchmark growth tactics against data
  • Source, edit, write, and deploy content on the Slack Platform blog, @slackapi and other channels that communicate with our developer community
  • Partner with the Developer Relations team to bring best of breed development tutorials and training to developers
  • Work with Sales engineering and Developer Relations to create customer facing guides that will help our customers get up and running with building their own internal apps

  • Significant experience bringing technical products to market
  • Experience with APIs and excitement about building products on top of them
  • An understanding of modern developer tools and how they all work together
  • Strong writing skills, whether a tweet or an in-depth technical guide
  • Ability to manage a variety of social channels from building a strategic narrative to the day-to-day logistics
  • Passion about Slack and our platform opportunity
  • Great track record of working cross functionally with engineers, sales, developer evangelists, business development, and community leaders
