KOMO 4 News, in Seattle, Washington, is looking a Weather intern for Fall semester!

KOMO Weather interns will get first-hand experience in what it takes to get a forecast from creation to broadcast. Interns will assist in creating weather graphics to be used during the TV weather forecast. They will also have opportunity to learn how to make their own forecasts and practice their writing skills in writing a forecast for the KOMONews.com website. Interns will also be able to get valuable practice in presenting a weather forecast in front of the "green screen" and can receive assistance in recording a demo reel to send to prospective broadcast employers. This is a paid opportunity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create weather graphics
  • Write forecast for website
  • Other duties may be assigned

Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates should be planning and preparing for a job in news
  • Preferred at least junior or senior enrolled in atmospheric science or meteorology related degree program at college or university
  • Must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
