Senior Director of Network Sales (8694)

NewsON is seeking an experienced network sales expert who is both technically savvy and driven to monetize a new video service. The Senior Director of Network Sales will lead monetization efforts for a fast-growth video ad portfolio. NewsON is the largest streaming service for live, local TV news broadcasts with US coverage in 113 DMAs covering over 84% of the US population. The offering is available today on iOS, Android and Roku, and is in development for additional platforms. NewsON's ideal advertising partners will be large traditional network TV agencies that seek to expand their reach across platforms, as well as national consumer brands that purchase video media on a sponsorship or impression basis. This position will head a team that will report directly to the head of Sinclair Network Sales. The location for this position is New York City, NY. NewsON is a division of Sinclair Broadcast Group, the nation's largest local media company.


  • Introduce groundbreaking NewsON national video offering to TV ad buyers across all platforms, and build strong customer base to grow along with the service
  • Work with leadership at NewsON and Sinclair Network Sales to maximize video ad revenue on the NewsON digital platform
  • Identify and qualify new client prospects, secure appointments with key decision-making personnel and close business
  • Cultivate deep relationships with key agency and direct client decision makers
  • Work with client base to define strategy, budgets and campaigns implementation, as well as KPIs to measure success
  • Serve as product consultant educating clients and agencies on network solutions but exclusively focused on NewsON mid-roll and pre-roll sales
  • Collaborate effectively with product, marketing and technology experts in team environment
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline for NewsON sales team, forecast revenue accurately, and achieve quarterly revenue targets
  • Lead internal cross-team communication and collaboration

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience launching and marketing early-stage products
  • Extensive experience in successfully introducing innovative advertising products and services to the marketplace
  • Developing strong relationships with large agency and consumer brand contacts, including particular depth with innovative traditional TV buyers
  • Strong understanding of the broadcast and digital advertising landscape including digital video, mobile video, VOD, and emerging technologies
  • A history of working collaboratively with internal teams including, operations, marketing, finance and external technology partners
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and a very strong analytic, strategic problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Proven track record of top performance measured against business growth, revenue, and other sales metrics
  • Creative and strategic thinker with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience working in a smaller, startup-type environment. While we are not a startup, our company culture is still highly lean and entrepreneurial


  • Bachelor's Degree (Masters Preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in sales and management including digital products
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be available to work in conjunction with West Coast hours
