The Procurement team is searching for a full-time Purchasing Assistant! This position will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting purchasing initiatives and vendor purchase programs. You will be providing clerical support to our contract administration function, and engage with other Procurement team members, stakeholders throughout the company, and vendors to provide purchasing support where needed. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, great communication skills, and willingness to learn and challenge the status quo. The position will report to the Purchasing Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process contracts and purchase orders submitted by the Business Units
- Submit purchase requisitions in Purchasing system, as necessary
- Assist with supporting various vendor purchase programs
- Provide customer support and training to Business Units on the purchasing process, buying channels, contracts process, preferred vendors, etc.
- Work with the Purchasing Manager to identify purchasing projects to complete each quarter
- Prepare and administer surveys to send to Business Units to gather feedback on vendor performance and other areas as needed
- Assist Strategic Sourcing Agents on cost savings initiatives, including data gathering, data analysis, etc.
- Work with preferred vendors to obtain quotes for Business Units
- Negotiate pricing and business terms with vendors, as needed.
- Provide support to Business Units regarding purchasing processes, policies, best practices, contracts submittal, etc.
- Reconcile Purchase Order/Invoice discrepancies
- Other Procurement-related job duties, as assigned, based on the needs of the business
- Bachelor's Degree in any of the following business disciplines: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Procurement, or similar.
- At least 1-year professional experience in an office setting
- Oracle Cloud experience a plus
- Must be punctual
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, professional working relationship with employees and stakeholders
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking, time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new e-tools and resources
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Self-motivated
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Must be organized with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
