Sinclair Broadcast Group Corporate News Division is seeking a creative and dedicated full-time Special Projects News Photographer who will work within a Corporate-based Special Projects Unit and will investigate challenges in the education system during a two-year project assignment. We are seeking someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. This position will report to the Executive Producer of Investigative Projects during the duration of this investigative initiative.

The candidate should have three years of ENG experience with a network affiliate news organization. You will work with our special projects team on investigative assignments. We are shooting full High-definition (HD) on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A passion for story telling is absolutely essential in this position. Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and thorough knowledge of journalism ethics and media access laws preferred.

Required Skills

  • We are looking for an aggressive team-player who can produce compelling stories under tight deadlines.
  • Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles.
  • At least three years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment.
  • Ability to edit and shoot investigative stories.
  • Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis.
