Fox26 News is looking for an experienced reporter for our five-hour weekday morning show. To merit consideration you must be able to provide a reel of your on-air work that is rich in active and involved live storytelling. If you are a morning person with a great personality and strong storytelling skills then this is a great opportunity for you!
We want someone who has the energy and creativity to do compelling live shots for five-hours of live morning news each weekday. You must be creative, a strong writer, a good communicator, possess great live skills, and have solid news judgment. You should also have the ability to go from light news to breaking news at any given time. Our morning reporters are also expected to turn packages for later newscasts and provide daily social media content. You also must be a compelling storyteller on social media and understand and demonstrate how to use Facebook Live and other platforms in an effective manner.
Experience and Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcast Media, or relative field
- At least one year of on-air experience
- Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
- Experience investigating and reporting government waste and other such stories will be considered a plus
- Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
- Strong writing and copy editing skills are a must
