We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Sinclair Digital Lab team. As a Systems Engineer, you will help innovate, build, and support our rapidly expanding next generation IP broadcast platform.
Key Result Areas :
- Network, Compute, and Unix based systems
- Support Sinclair's ATSC 3 and mobile service rollouts
- Support verification and validation testing of receivers in our lab (Mobile phones, tablets, TVs and Gateways)
- Develop requirements and acceptance plans for qualifying software and station equipment
- Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software, virtual machines and management tools to keep lab servers/ broadcast air chains up to date
- Develop, maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies for the Lab
- Support plug fests, interop events and integration in the lab
- Support other Digital initiatives
- Good understanding of IP network fundamentals
- Understanding of IP multicast & IGMP protocols
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills
- Interest in broadcast video format and broadcast technologies, such as MPEG, MPEG-2 , HEVC, ATSC, HDTV, RF Cable and Satellite, DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting), Digital Communication Systems, and DTV advantageous
- Contributes to the development, maintenance, and/or installation of systems, netw ork, or comput er configuration and setup
- Installation and configuration of operating systems, enterprise systems, and application software
- Performs high-level root-cause analysis for system/service interruptions and works with peers to create preventiv e measure plans

The base salary compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $160,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
