News 4 San Antonio/Fox 29 has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for interns for our News Department for the Fall 2017 semester. News interns may also intern in our Sports or Weather department. Qualified candidates should also be planning and preparing for a job in news. We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated students who are looking to get the most out of their internship experience. You must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship, and be at least 18 years of age. This internship is unpaid. Credit Verification forms will be provided.

The News internship will allow you to learn and understand how local media works.

Different positions, such as: Reporters, Producers, Photographers, Editors, Production & Web Producers will be exposed to you.

Learning a specific skill set is crucial for you when you leave your internship and seek a job in news.

  • Must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship, again this internship is unpaid.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. Students in their Junior and Senior year of college are preferred

Required Skills

Communication skills: Candidates should be able to speak, write and listen well. Presentation skills are also key as is the ability to respond to criticisms and questions.

Computer/technical skills: Just as candidates should be able to read and write, candidates need to be familiar with computers. Expectations for proficiency with many applications continue to rise.

Leadership: Candidates should be able to take charge but also know when to let others take over, depending on what's needed.

Teamwork: Candidates should work well with different people while still being in control of some of their own assignments.

Personal traits: Candidates should have initiative, be motivated, adaptable to change, industrious, honest and be able to juggle tasks.
