is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant News Director. We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent coaching skills, a passion for winning the big story, and an overall winning attitude. We are looking for an experienced manager who can work with a group of journalists on our day to day coverage in a hands-on working environment, as well as work with our producers to showcase great content.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strong leadership and writing skills
  • Excellent news judgment
  • The ability to coach and motivate producers and reporters
  • Strategic planning and time management skills are a must
  • Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws
  • Possess strong fiscal experience
  • Must have a proven track records of success in building/ contributing a winning newscast and/or operation
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts
  • Must have a strong understanding of emerging media and experience building content across all platforms
  • Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws
  • At least two years of television management experience is required
  • Journalism degree and a minimum of five years' experience in a news management role
  • A flexible schedule is required
