We're looking for a Controls Applications Specialist (Electrical Designer) to join our Controls Applications Team in Peachtree City, GA. The Controls Applications Designer supports the quotations, field services, and sales team and is responsible for the planning, creation, and delivery of device layouts, bill of materials, and project submittal packages along with any other supporting documentation regarding lighting control systems. This position is responsible for applying the appropriate technical knowledge, skillset, tools, and techniques required to communicate and document the correct type, quantity, and installation location of wired and wireless lighting control systems. The incumbent acts as the knowledge expert in commercial and industrial applications as they relate to applying complete lighting controls system solutions. This position requires highly technical individuals capable of understanding system wiring and electrical specifications to develop a customized solution to meet the scope of the project.

What you'll do
  • Review electrical job specifications to provide a customized lighting control solution based on reflected ceiling plans, riser drawings, fixture schedules, panel schedules, and power plans
  • Generate project specific device placement drawings based on project control/design intent
  • Generate custom wiring diagrams and lighting controls systems submittal packages using computer-aided design software
  • Develop a communication line with quotations, field services, product managers, technical support, agents, engineers, and inside sales teams.
  • Understand user intent for wired and wireless lighting control systems
What you'll need

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution
  • 1+ years lighting control systems experience (wired and wireless)
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Bluebeam (or other similar design software)
  • Experience reading electrical design drawings and knowledge of electrical installation
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently and a strong technical aptitude and learning agile
