Job Description: Senior Manager, POC OEM Procurement

Specific Requirements: This individual mentors a team of individuals responsible for managing OEM / Contract manufactured products / suppliers including making sure our commercial products meet Siemens standards for Quality, Supply, Delivery & Cost. Objective of maximizing the contribution to operating revenue and profit (ie CNI, lowest SPC), optimizing the purchasing and procurement processes as well as managing cross functional teams for resolving product quality issues, reducing product costs, introducing new designs, modifying manufacturing processes, etc. The team also works with new product development Core Team Leaders regarding the technical requirements for new product introductions and / or implementation of legacy product design changes at contract manufacturing firms.

Responsibilities include establishing / implementing / managing strategic sourcing strategies consistent with commodity management direction for a team of technically based engineers and biochemists functioning as part of commercial Product Health Teams or New Product Core Teams. Interface to R&D scientists and R&D functional Business Unit management (POC, Business Development) to provide technology strategy and collaborative input for procurement positioning, supplier selection, supply agreement and approach decisions, strategic supplier consolidation, and deliver interface and network back into strategic procurement organization for long term business benefit.

Trains and develops staff based upon updated requirements and periodic assessments of the department. Negotiates long-term agreements with finished good and component suppliers to ensure that supply risks are mitigated. Responsible for identifying and tracking department's productivity initiatives. Communicates supplier performance to the management team and drives any associated supplier development activities.

SAP knowledge is a plus.

Develops very complex design, development, testing and modifications of solutions. Guides explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of very complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data. Guides communication of very complex technical and commercial issues. Develops recommendations for very complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.

Education :

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Typically 10-15 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Direction of Others:

Mentors department team members. Provide specialized guidance and training. Leadership qualities and role model qualities are required.
