Marketing UX Team Lead, Shopify Plus

Shopify Plus’ mission is to make commerce better for high-volume, high-growth companies like Tesla, Kylie Cosmetics, RedBull, Kanye West, Subway, and many more. We believe our merchants should love their commerce platform, and we’re having fun each day making that happen.

We’re looking for someone to build a UX team and practice for our marketing organization. This team will be primarily responsible for the creative direction of our brand, and focussed on growing the number of customers on Shopify Plus.

You’ll be working with marketing to understand their goals and priorities, and then setting the direction for and designing best-in-class and engaging user experiences - from landing pages to marketing campaigns - to achieve these.

You'll need to have:

  • A background in leading and working with UX teams to create world-class experiences
  • An understanding that great experiences come from collaborative decision-making with front-end developers, engineers, researchers, content strategists, and other disciplines
  • The desire to drive creative through an end to end UX process, including research, ideation, iteration, and validation
  • A data informed approach to design -- you’ve used tools and resources needed to measure success of design decisions (A/B testing tools, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • A distaste for lorem ipsum -- caring about getting the copy right needs to be a priority
  • A love for all things brand -- how it can best be expressed online and how to evolve and build it over time
  • A soft spot for the end user -- advocating for them in all areas of your work is core to what you doProficiency with design & prototyping tools (Sketch, Photoshop, etc), as well as knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • A desire to roll up your sleeves -- you’ll have to be good at managing your time and priorities as well as resourceful and flexible!

You’ll be working on:

  • Designing and building a new web presence for Shopify Plus
  • Growing a UX team of multi-disciplinary problem solvers
  • Creating end to end advertising experiences: Google Display and Facebook Ad creative, landing page design and optimization
  • Multiple types of marketing design projects, for varied audiences, and with unique conversion goals in mind
