At Shopify, data runs throughout the entire organization and we've spent many months developing a new data warehouse that is capable of processing an enormous quantity of data. With these data, our Data Analytics Team provides reporting, monitoring, and strategic advice to all areas of Shopify. As a data analyst, you will work in a highly collaborative fashion as a core member of the Data Analytics Team to prioritize data collection, transformation, and advanced data analysis techniques. You will also work closely with the senior leadership of Shopify, pushing for data-driven decision making that will effectively transform how we work as an organization. You will help define and measure key metrics, promote new analytical techniques, question assumptions, and tell the story behind the numbers. You will develop a deep understanding of our data, tools, and processes.

Finance - Shopify's finance team keeps the pulse of the business. Besides the normal functions thought of as the role of finance, (including planning, organizing, auditing, accounting for and controlling its company's finances) Shopify's finance team is always looking for interesting ways to use data to make positive decisions on the best way to run the business.
Business Development - Shopify has developed an extensive network of third parties committed to the platform. These third parties provide services to our merchants, develop new apps and themes for our platform, and provide new avenues for potential customers to discover our services.
Customer Support - Shopify provides 24/7 customer support to hundreds of thousands of merchants around the world. Communication between our merchants and our customer support gurus via email, phone, and live chat generates massive amounts of data. The support team is constantly looking for data-driven ways to improve our merchants’ experience.
Shopify Plus - Shopify Plus is is helping power commerce for companies like Tesla, RedBull, GE, L'Oreal, Mondelez, Kanye West, Subway, UPS and many more by making enterprise commerce simple. We give high growth, high volume merchants the scalability, reliability and flexibility they need.This is an incredible opportunity to make an impact on a group in hyper-growth mode.
You'll need to have:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a data analytics role
- Experience with Tableau, QlikView, or similar data visualization tools
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience analyzing data with SQL
- Basic knowledge of Python or other programming language
- Great organizational and interpersonal skills, with proven success building relationships across all levels
- App or front-end development experience a plus
