Lending Specialist

Shift has reinvented the way people buy cars from other individuals.  No more sketchy craigslist sellers, questionably maintained cars, or pushy used car dealerships; instead, we bring the car to you. Now we’re working to transform the landscape of automotive finance to better serve our growing customer base!
To help us achieve this goal, we are looking for an associate to join the Finance Operations team at the ground floor; someone to lead the charge on increasing the quality, penetration, and profitability of our financing and insurance products. The Shift Lending & Insurance Specialist will be responsible for interfacing with Shift buyers that are interested in Financing and Insurance products, identifying and verifying key customer information, and creating a customer-centric and highly compliant culture within our team.

Qualities we are looking for:
Intellectual curiosity - can you get excited about the details of the deal? You will become a center of excellence capable of walking customers through even the most complex financing situations. Getting to that point will require continual learning self-directed exploration.
Attention to detail - lending and insurance are both heavily regulated industries. While mistakes happen, we need to be careful to avoid them, identify them quickly and solve problems in real time.
Entrepreneurship - Shift is still very new to the world of finance and insurance. We are looking for a candidate that can identify and improve problem areas of our operations.

Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor loan applications and lender decisions
- Interface with customers to collect and verify key document requirements
- Fulfilling and closing financing deals
- Identifying and creating solutions to operational issues / inefficiencies
- Uploading closing documents for 3rd party lending partners
- Troubleshooting problem deals

Requirements

  • Relevant experience at a lending organization
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience interfacing with customers
  • Experience collecting and verifying key customer information (income, residence, etc)
