Head of Growth

As Head of Growth, you will conceive and execute the growth strategy of Shift Technologies driving customer acquisition growth and engagement through product and technology. The Growth team focuses on growing and engaging Shift’s user base. The team is data driven and results focused. We are seeking a talented manager who thrives at the intersection of data, product, engineering, and marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical, analytical, and product background with a hunger to make infrequent use products grow. Please note that title and compensation commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create a growth strategy for Shift
  • Understand the growth analytics and tracking to support the creation of product features that drive growth and get customers to engage with and convert to be Shift users
  • Work with the team to develop strategies for acquisition, retention and reactivation through multiple channels, including SEM/SEO, contextual targeting, retargeting, traditional marketing, inbound channels, and other techniques not yet discovered
  • Focus on implementing non-paid growth strategies in addition to enhancing our current, strong set of paid online marketing programs
  • Grow and manage a team of performance marketers
  • Create, launch and optimize acquisition campaigns across online and offline channels
  • Continually improve upon both profitability and growth metrics
  • Take an iterative data-driven approach to understand the efficacy of various paid and organic channels to grow and optimize them effectively
  • Create and launch referral programs, targeting appropriate users and engaging with them
  • Understand how local marketplace dynamics impact our playbook and all user acquisition initiatives
  • Work closely with our engineering team, product team and CEO

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience leading online marketing programs, ideally with a focus on acquiring and activating consumers in an local goods marketplace environment
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or a quantitative field a plus.
  • A strong creative, branding, and product background
  • Strong analytic skills with knowledge of strategic, economic, and financial analysis frameworks and models
  • Proven track record of successful growth initiatives, working cross-functionally as a business partner
  • Experience managing a large marketing budget across multiple channels
  • Experience with driving customer growth with larger, considered transactions (e.g., airline bookings, hotel bookings, home purchases)
  • Experience as a metrics-driven technology growth, with a background in generating quality leads (from amazing content creators) for a technologies business
  • Experience working closely with world-class engineers in developing products and features to drive user growth and user engagement
  • Ability to deal with high-growth pains and challenges of a technology start up
