Sr. Product Manager - Labs

Founded in 2009, SendGrid is an industry-disrupting, cloud-based customer communication platform that solves the challenges of reliably delivering emails on behalf of our customers.  We deliver over 30 billion emails a month for customers like Airbnb, Spotify, and Uber.

As a product manager in SendGrid Labs, you will work on a small, cross functional, nimble and dynamic team, validating new products that expand SendGrid’s market opportunities. You will focus on all aspects of new product development from ideation, problem and solution validation, prototyping and testing. You will have the opportunity to engage with users, identify problems, and architect solutions to test product hypothesis. Ultimately, you will think strategically about existing and new markets and bridge business and technology to deliver solutions that enable us to achieve our goal of simplifying communication between businesses and their customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Master an effective process of problem validation through solution validation
  • Actively participate in the ideation, problem, and solution validation process to identify strategic product initiatives
  • Work as part of a high velocity team focused on experimental product validation, prototyping and testing
  • Create and execute product roadmaps that align with company strategy
  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers and experiment participants
  • Collaborate with business leads on product experiment economics
  • Monitor competitors and serve as an expert on other products in the marketplace
  • Drive internal processes to define the product strategy, roadmap and priorities
  • Oversee the development of requirements documents and use cases for new product features
  • Monitor the status of resource allocation and development projects supporting new features
  • Conduct market research, testing, surveys, and quantitative measurements of new product experiments
  • Support the collection, organization and synthesis of experiment insights

About You

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or relevant work experience
  • 5-8 years of product management experience
  • Solid technical experience working with complex products & services
  • Strategic perspective, creativity, passion about digital products and technology
  • Experience with Cloud, SaaS and IaaS products
  • Familiarity with web technologies and ability to dig in at a granular level with developers
  • Experience with agile product and development processes
  • Familiar with tools for wireframing and specification/feature management
  • SQL or similar data analytics knowledge
  • Ability to build consensus and communicate across varied constituencies
  • Strong project management skills and capability in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, discriminate between critical and non-critical requirements, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • High energy and ability to balance priorities, “roll-up-your-sleeves” and execute hands-on within ambiguity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Creative in obtaining data, synthesizing across quantitative, qualitative, and logical reasoning
  • Ability to break down complex problems into concrete steps to drive projects forward
  • Highly adaptable and comfortable with change
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, can back up arguments with data
  • Strong communication skills expressing technical concepts in verbal and written form
