Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer

External Description

Provide leadership and strategic direction for the development and execution of an integrated enterprise-wide compliance and ethics program in support of Seattle Children’s mission, vision and values, subject to the ultimate oversight of the Audit and Corporate Responsibility Committee of the Board of Trustees. Design, implement, and oversee systems and processes to promote ethical conduct and to deter, detect and mitigate unlawful or improper conduct, including effective education and training programs. Identify, prioritize, investigate, and resolve compliance issues, including but not limited to coding, billing, documentation, and reimbursement activities. Independently lead or oversee, as appropriate, special compliance projects, investigations and/or audits and provide direction to other departments that engage in de-centralized compliance activities. Oversee and provide direction to the Privacy Program and Research Compliance Program. Develop and coordinate appropriate reporting of compliance priorities, initiatives and identified issues to the Audit and Corporate Responsibility Committee and senior leadership, as appropriate. This position has the authority to engage external counsel to assist on any matter related to corporate compliance when deemed necessary after consultation with Seattle Children’s General Counsel

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field
- Seven years experience in healthcare compliance

Preferred:
- MHA or JD
- Certification in Health Care Compliance (CHC, CHRC and/or CCEP)
