Research Scientist I - EX

External Description

A full-time Research Scientist I position is available at Seattle Children’s Research Institute. We are looking for self-motivated and dedicated individuals with interests in gene therapy, molecular biology, and immunology for projects involving the development of novel gene therapy strategies for hemophilia. The research efforts involve a broad range of experimental techniques, including PCR, molecular cloning, cell culture, biochemical assays, ultrasound, imaging, and mouse and large animal studies.  It is expected that the successful applicant will work effectively to quickly learn skills required to take over independent projects and work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory.


Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in bioengineering, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related field
- Prior laboratory experience

- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

- Experience with cloning, cell culture, mouse handling, ultrasound, imaging, gene transfer, large animal studies, and bioassays are preferred
