Research Scientist I - EX
The Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies is looking to hire an exceptional candidate to join ongoing research studies aimed at understanding the role of B cells in promoting systemic autoimmunity.
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about taking a hands-on, problem-solving approach, analytical, and enjoys working in a collaborative group setting. Candidates desiring additional research training prior to applying to graduate or medical school are eligible to apply.
The successful candidate will have experience in an academic/industry lab setting and will possess a strong background in immunology, including experience in mouse experimentation, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, PCR and ELISA's.
Most of the responsibilities will be project driven and the candidate is expected to be able to exercise independent judgment in designing and conducting experiments in a rapidly changing, deadline-driven environment. Must be able to interpret, evaluate, analyze and present data/progress through individual and group meetings as well as accurately document and record experiments in an electronic lab notebook (ELN). Must possess a professional demeanor and excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and troubleshoot various issues.
- Bachelor's Degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and/or related field
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting; may include relevant educational programs
- 2 year's experience in a related area/laboratory setting
- Strong background in flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, fluorescence microscopy, PCR and ELISA's
- Some experience with laboratory management
