Manager, Transfusion Services Laboratory

Job Description:

Provide leadership, expertise and oversight of the 24/7 operations of the Transfusion Services Laboratory. Ensure high quality testing, cost effective resource utilization, implementation of standardized safe, reliable and lean processes that are compliant with accreditation and regulatory standards.


Required Education/Experience: - BS Medical Technology, or related biological science. - Graduation from an accredited School of Medical Technology or equivalent. - Minimum five years experience in a transfusion services (blood bank) laboratory with demonstration of increasing responsibility, leadership and thorough understanding of clinical laboratory's and hospital's operations and organization. - Expertise in AABB Standards - Minimum three years supervisory or management experience. Required Credentials: - Certification by nationally recognized laboratory organization (ASCP/or NCA). - As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for Laboratory Manager performing moderate or high complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. Preferred: - Pediatric hospital laboratory transfusion services experience - Experience with managing a lab using Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines
