External Description

This position is a one-year post-doctoral fellowship program and provides a learning opportunity for applicants interested in extracorporeal life support (ECLS) research. Current projects in this program include coordinating sample collection, collection/processing/analysis of ECLS circuits after removal, analysis of RBC and platelet loss mechanisms during ECLS. Other responsibilities include protocol development and review, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and training in the conduct of clinical trials and research. The fellowship is intended to develop clinical research skills and make a contribution to the advancement of medical knowledge by engaging in clinical research. There are no patient care duties associated with this research, but since it involves collection and analysis of clinical data an MD or equivalent degree is desirable.


Required Education/Experience:
- MD or PhD with clincial experience from an accredited university training program.
