Assistant General Counsel

External Description

Responsible for providing complex legal advice, consultation, and policy analysis and interpretation in numerous areas of law and policy, including functioning as lead counsel for accountable care, payor and provider relationships, under the guidance of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Supports transactional work of Seattle Children's and its affiliated organizations, including responsibility as lead counsel on appropriate matters. Functions at a level of skill, knowledge, and judgement that permits independent action, subject to oversight by the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Prepares written opinions and guidance for executive management team. Maintain current knowledge of opinions, orders, decisions, developments, existing and proposed state and federal regulations and other matters of interest to the organization and advises management of impact and compliance strategies.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience: - JD or equivalent from ABA accredited law school - Demonstrated experience in legal and regulatory framework governing hospital and health care operations - Minimum 7 years of relevant health care law experience in corporate, public or private law firm setting Required Credentials: - Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school - Admitted to practice law in the State of Washington Preferred: - Prior experience in a major law firm or in-house experience in a large, complex organization
