Accountant Senior, Research Grants
Are you often referred to the the Jack or Jill of all things Accounting? Are you a rules and regulations expert? then this role may be for you. We are growing and this add to staff will support our Research Accounting team.
Research Accounting at Seattle Children's Research Institute is different than standard accounting with a level of complexity including GAAP, specific rules and regulations that apply to grants/contracts/research, and compliance. Research has it's own office of management and budget. All audit is in house. AP and Payroll is on the hospital accounting side. September 30, 2018 is the end of year with books closing October 19, 2018. This is a high volume, challenging position.
We are looking for someone who is accurate, detail orientated, technoolgy focused and not afraid to ask questions or for help. You will be supporting financial and compliance audits. There will be ad hoc reporting, financial statements and analysis work as well.
Account for federal, state, and private research grants and contracts, and other designated funds so that grants and contracts are managed in accordance with grantor and contractor requirements, and support Seattle Children's mission as a health care delivery system.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience, to include grant/contract accounting experience.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification
- Healthcare accounting experience; non-profit accounting experience
- Lawson ERP proficiency.
