About the JavaScript Engineer Role

Scribd is already a top 100 site on the web and we first made big news when we launched the first HTML5 document reader (http://tcrn.ch/dfMn4D). We’re looking for someone with deep experience leveraging CoffeeScript to work on the team building our richly interactive cross-platofrm website and our envelope-pushing JavaScript based eReader app that functions across web, iOS, and Android.

You Will

  • be responsible for client side web development of the core Scribd product
  • have a large impact deploying code and new features daily to millions of users
  • write performant, well-tested, compatible code

About you

  • 2-4+ years of professional experience with JavaScript
  • 1+ years experience with CoffeeScript
  • 2+ years full-stack web development experience, Ruby preferred
  • Experience with MySQL or similar database
  • CS degree or equivalent experience
  • Cross-browser experience including mobile
