About the Candidate:
This profile outlines a highly motivated and experienced HVAC Design & Commissioning Engineer with 4-5 years of proven success in the design, implementation, and commissioning of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, with a strong focus on automation, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of HVAC principles, relevant industry standards, and best practices in energy efficiency and sustainable building design. They are adept at translating project requirements into functional and efficient HVAC automation and control strategies, ensuring seamless system integration and optimal performance. This individual is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Skills and Experience:
- HVAC System Design: Proficient in the design and calculation of various HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, and direct expansion (DX) systems.
- HVAC Automation & Control: In-depth knowledge of HVAC control principles, sequences of operation, and control component selection (sensors, actuators, controllers).
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs): Familiarity with PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram) and experience in integrating PLCs with HVAC systems and BMS.
- Commissioning & Testing: Proven ability to develop commissioning plans, conduct site inspections, perform functional testing of HVAC systems and controls, troubleshoot issues, and generate comprehensive commissioning reports.
- Schematic & Wiring Diagrams: Expertise in interpreting and developing HVAC control schematics, wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams.
Responsibilities:
Developing detailed HVAC control strategies and sequences of operation based on project specifications and client requirements.
- Designing and specifying HVAC automation and control systems, including BMS architecture, PLC integration, and field device selection.
- Creating control schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials for HVAC automation systems.
- Developing commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for HVAC automation and BMS.
- Providing technical support and training to end-users on HVAC automation and BMS operation.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in HVAC technology, automation, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborating effectively with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, architects, and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in HVAC design and commissioning with a specific focus on automation, BMS, and PLC.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Commissioning Professional - CCP, LEED AP) are a plus.
