Summer Intern - Interactive


We offer 12-week paid internships working as reporting interns for metro, photo, arts, interactive and business teams. Starting in May/June through August/September.

Interactive intern: This intern will help generate ideas as part of The Chronicle's Digital Team and work on larger projects with the rest of the newsroom to create packages that are easy to navigate and visually stunning. Candidates should have both design and web development abilities. They should be savvy in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and be familiar with Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator. The ideal candidate will also have newsroom experience, familiarity with CMSs, frameworks, responsive/mobile design and an ability to break down complex information to tell stories visually. Experience with services, products and tools such as working with APIs, Google Maps/Fusion Tables, D3.js, and understanding of data visualization are all highly desired skills.
