Sr. Manager, Communications

Samsung NEXT is looking for an experienced start-up expert with product, venture and/or operating background. 

The senior manager of communications will be responsible for both the strategic development and tactical execution of Samsung NEXT’s external and internal communications program. Our objective is the enhancement and protection of Samsung NEXT’s reputation among its core audiences of entrepreneurs, investors, industry influencers, Samsung NEXT employees and the broader Samsung organization. The role will report directly to the VP/head of communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communications and PR strategy and plans for Samsung NEXT announcements, events, and campaigns
  • Write press releases, briefing documents, bylines and messaging collateral
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests, and identify opportunities for leadership team and company spokespeople
  • Leverage existing media contacts and build new relationships with media and industry influencers
  • Project manage the comms elements of a multi-effort marcomms campaign
  • Produce PR and brand marketing campaign effectiveness reports
  • Partner with content producer on social media and thought leadership program execution
  • Work across a number of business divisions and internal stakeholder audiences
  • Manage external vendor and agency relationships
  • Maintain understanding of industry trends and make recommendations regarding strategy and plans

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in PR or corporate communications, ideally both in-house and agency settings, but complex in-house experience preferred.
  • Established media relationships and demonstrated success securing interviews, creating and executing PR campaigns and measuring effectiveness
  • Experience creating messaging and briefing documents; securing executive interviews and press coverage.
  • Experience building executive thought leadership platforms.
  • Experience working in complex in corporate environments.
  • Work within a start up preferred
  • Collaborative, team-oriented style and superb multitasker
  • Exceptional writing/editing and storytelling skills.
  • Creative-thinker, comfortable executing in a fast-paced environment and passionate about brand storytelling, PR and tech.
