Performance Assurance Engineers (multiple roles)

Position Summary

•Help Support the PA team to proactively define and interpret data/metrics/KPIs, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends and opportunities for all the RAN products.
•Ensure Samsung 4G and 5G products (4G DU, 5G RU, 5G DU, CBRS RRHs, DCM, LSM, vLSM, USM, vDCM, and vCU) are 100% compliance with customer's network performance targets.
•Coordination with HQ development/GTS Teams and partner with other internal teams, business stakeholders and external vendors to design, develop and deliver various data needs

•Aid in product & feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases and 3rd party product evaluation using analytics/data science to drive intelligent business decisions and to build product synergies across all product elements.

•New role will require the candidate to establish and disseminate processes and practices to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality reports/insights to our customers

•Travel to the customer and field locations will occur as necessary to perform job functions

•Knowledge/expertise/experience
oWork closely with the internal and external stakeholders to define 4G/5G KPI measurement methodologies and targets (KPI, KQI) for 4G/5G RAN product acceptance.
oWork closely with stakeholders to help build products that help utilize large amount of structured & unstructured data in analyzing network performance
oProactively define and interpret data/metrics/KPIs, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends and opportunities for all the 4G/5G RAN products
oCommunicate key findings to stakeholders using visualizations and/or other suitable methods
oAid in product & feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases and 3rd party product evaluation using analytics/data science to drive intelligent business decisions and to build product synergies across all product elements
oDevelop the A/B testing framework to aid in product & feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases and 3rd party product evaluation
oIdentify key datasets, and help define data pipeline from collection, processes, storage, lineage and data dictionary to ensure accuracy, completeness & availability
oDemonstrate ability to analyze and interpret a mix of qualitative and quantitative data using various data sources, construct compelling narratives, and provide actionable insights and recommendations on complex topics.
oConceptualize and implement data extracts, data replication, reports, information dashboards, and other end-user information portals or resources to support the 4G/5G project deliverables.
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate key technical concepts, ability to package complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow progressions
oAdapt to changes in a dynamic business environment, support management initiatives, and guide other engineers
oPresent ideas, technical and non-technical, in a logical, compelling manner in a written format and verbally in both small and large group settings
oCommunicate PA team budget, milestones and deliverables to project management and implement plans to accomplish the milestones within budget, as required
•Skills
oExperience with evaluating service performance trends and proactively defining RAN system performance related issues
oExperience using statistical languages such as R, Python, SQL with the purpose of data munging and hypothesis testing to drive data driven decision making
oExperience with data visualization and ability to quickly grasp statistical methods, and methodologies. Maintain a strong command of current data analytics technology trends, including emerging paradigms and practices
oWorking knowledge of statistical concepts (distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals) and experience applying to real-world applications
oSuccessful record of accomplishment defining direction and providing specific instruction for engineering projects/programs leveraging personal knowledge and organizational skills to increase team efficiency, facilitate personal development and mentor colleagues.
oDemonstrated research and problem solving skills via prior work experience. Experience with wireless infrastructure provider and/or operator is desired
oMust have a strong work ethic, integrity and work extremely well in a team environment
•Education (include higher education, certifications, and whether required and/or preferred)
oBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; Advanced degree in Data Science or a related Data Engineering, or equivalent experience is beneficial
Role and Responsibilities

Necessary Skills and attributes:
Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to work with a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.

Physical/Mental Demands:
Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest and ethical responsibilities.
