Position Summary

Act as a key contributor as a subject matter expert in a multi-functional team of R&D, Systems engineering, and product validation to introduce Samsung products to Wireless Carrier.

Role and Responsibilities

Act as a key contributor as a subject matter expert in a multi-functional team of R&D, Systems engineering, and product validation to introduce Samsung products to Wireless Carrier. Assist with the design, development, and validation of Kubernetes-based containerized 4G/5G Network Function Virtualization. Apply knowledge of performance measurement & tuning of VMware/Openstack servers and Virtual sessions and management of servers' resources between virtual machines. Perform performance measurement & tuning of VMware/Openstack servers and Virtual sessions and management of servers' resources between virtual machines. Apply engineering expertise towards OAMP/FCAPS subsystem integration and troubleshooting in wireless networks. Work to drive engineering support teams to troubleshoot commercial NMS/EMS application issues, propose workarounds, and work with R&D to provide the RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to the customer. Assist with development of engineering product requirements, feature requirements, systems and performance analysis, Work with the team to conduct deep-dive customer sessions, new technology introduction of 4G/5G RAN Network Management features and introduction of virtualized networks. Assist with engineering analysis of the customer requirements, converting them into system requirements and capturing of detail design for the development team. Assist with Technical Management of new engineering products and SW releases to ensure that promised features are delivered with expected performance. Provide engineering technical support in the pre-sales process and creates compelling technical and commercial solutions in order to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers' network business. Work closely with various support organizations and cross- functional teams from SEA and Samsung R&D to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments.

Skills and Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Control Theory and Control Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related. In lieu of the Master's degree plus at least 2 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Control Theory and Control Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role. Applicants must have 2 years of experience (5 years of experience in possession of a relevant Bachelor's Degree) in the following: (1) OAMP/FCAPS/OSS knowledge/experience for EMS/NMS or RAN network elements; (2) EMS/NMS or RAN (vCU/vDU) Network Function Virtualization (NFV); (3) Unix/Linux, scripting tools including PERL, TCL, or shell; (4) Troubleshooting experience using command-line tools and scripts; (5) SNMP and TNM protocols and NMS/OSS interfaces; (6) Hardware and Software architecture; (7) High Availability and redundancy systems; and (8) Containerization and Kubernetes for 4G/5G Network Function Virtualization. Up to 20% domestic travel required.
