Lead Data Platforms Engineer

Who you are

  • You have experience working with MongoDB at scale as well as relational and columnar data stores
  • You have previously managed a small team
  • You enjoy having operational responsibilities and constantly improving monitoring, alerting and production practices
  • You’re interested in building products and tooling that support a diverse data ecosystem
  • You enjoy working in an iterative process

How you’ll grow

  • You’ll get to work with a multi-hundred node MongoDB deployment in production
  • You’ll contribute to a toolset that supports our production workflow and helps other people within Sailthru get access to the data they need
  • You’ll own the evolution of a data platform for a system that process multiple billions of messages per month
  • You'll be a great manager to your team and a mentor for other engineers

What we’d like

  • Multiple years (5-7) of production experience with relational data platforms (postgreSQL is a plus)
  • Multiple years (2+) of production experience with NoSQL platforms (MongoDB is a must)
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and tuning data platforms for scalability and resiliency
  • Experience designing data platforms for large scale needs
  • Experience working on Ansible and Zabbix in production environment
  • Deep knowledge of DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices
  • Ability to work seamlessly as part of a multi-site development team
