Procurement Manager

The Role:  
RXBAR is one of the fastest growing natural brands in the country and this explosive growth requires more of a need than ever to advance the strategic sourcing and procurement operations that are imperative to the sustainable growth of RXBAR.  The Procurement Manager will be responsible for all forecasting and purchasing of materials, packaging, corrugation, displays, production, and transportation with annual spend exceeding $20 million.  This position will also lead continuous improvement and costing projects across cross-functional internal teams and external strategic business partners.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Encompass a comprehensive and effective knowledge for managing the strategic sourcing process with a strong ambition to continuously learn and develop new methods and planning models
  • Ability to generate highly accurate material requirement plans for perpetual raw material inventory and manufacturing flow
  • Build strategies and the necessary relationships with RXBAR’s manufacturing plant and suppliers to ensure supply and quality requirements are met throughout the production process
  • Manage the development of budgets for ingredient/material, packaging and display categories to ensure monthly and annual goals are achieved
  • Pursue ongoing market research and knowledge to enable RXBAR’s competitive edge on dynamic market conditions and pricing
  • Manage various transportation and logistics activities with raw material suppliers and the manufacturing plant
  • Work with internal and external strategic partners to mitigate risks associated with the cost and supply of materials
  • Effectively lead cross functional initiatives with Operations, Finance, QA, R&D, Sales and Marketing teams.  Included but not limited to new product development, reformulations, product line extensions, promotional activities, and go to market strategies
  • Responsible for initiating POs, contract agreements, supplier scorecards, monthly forecasts, and cost of goods analysis

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for business
  • 2-5 years’ supply chain, logistics or operations experience; preferably in CPG
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or Operations related field
  • QuickBooks and/or ERP experience preferred
