Technical Account Manager

Summary: The Technical Account Manager Identify and upsell new revenue-driving opportunities for DSPs by evangelizing new products and channels within the programmatic ecosystem.  He/she will be the primary point of contact for DSP partners while helping with troubleshooting, reporting inquiries, as well as alignment across strategic initiatives. The TAM will play a central role in driving and growing revenue with demand partners.  In this role you will act as the voice of the customer (DSP) internally working along with sales team, product, and senior ops on long & short term initiatives for growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and upsell new revenue-driving opportunities for DSPs by evangelizing new products and channels within the programmatic ecosystem
  • Upsell key product initiatives – Video, Mobile, Private Marketplace, Audio, etc…
  • Drive product integrations to hit account & team quarterly goals    
  • Serve as the primary contact and strategic consultant to assigned DSP account
  • Serve as a Rubicon Project product/technical expert in RTB Open Market, Private Marketplaces, Guaranteed Orders, Mobile and Video marketplaces, to name a few
  • Identify trends and leverage data to suggest improvements in the product and/or the client's use of the product
  • Provide ongoing training to DSP accounts on existing/new/emerging products and provide consultation on implementation best practices for features selected
  • Make data-driven recommendations to clients on their use of the Rubicon Project product with an eye towards improving results and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot client reported issues and escalate as needed
  • Represent the company and our products with a high degree of professionalism and industry knowledge
  • Analytical, quantifiable, and data-centric mindset to drive business goals for an account base
  • Assist with new feature go-to-market and adoption via training, documentation review and client outreach

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience in relevant discipline; post-graduate degree a plus
  • 3+ years experience working in digital media or similar function
  • Experience in ad tech industry, or programmatic marketing is a plus
  • Experience in a customer-facing, service-oriented role
  • Experience with Global or Multi-national business preferred
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present technical solutions to prospects/clients during sales processes
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are must
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Efficient multi-tasking and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, ability to communicate with sales, executives and clients.

Technical skills:

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Prior experience with ad management systems, mobile platforms, mobile SDKs, cookies a plus
  • An understanding of how systems work together in RTB (both open auction and private marketplaces), Automated Guaranteed, and Ad Serving landscapes
  • Strong understanding of Internet advertising preferred: account set up, inventory and tag management, click reconciliation, etc.
  • Understanding of Demand Side Platforms, Ad Exchanges, Data Management Platforms (DMPs)
  • Working knowledge of ad industry technologies including auction-based ad exchanges, ad serving, behavioral targeting, performance optimization and analytics preferred
  • Working knowledge of display advertising exchanges, behavioral targeting, and performance-based optimization strongly preferred
  • Understanding of VAST and VPAID as well as Open RTB Video Ad serving requirements preferred
