Optimization Analyst

The Optimization Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of media campaigns using Rubicon Project’s leading edge technology platform. In this role, the Optimization Analyst strives to understand the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each campaign and uses optimization strategies to meet and exceed campaign performance goals. The Optimization Analyst will be expected to translate client campaign objectives into strategic and tactical recommendations for Rubicon Project’s clients.


  • Utilize Rubicon Project’s market leading technology & optimization capabilities
  • Oversee and analyze the performance of a portfolio of Rubicon Project media campaigns and determine/implement best practice strategies to meet client objectives
  • As the hands on champion of our clients’ campaign success – you will ensure workflow processes are followed for optimal implementation and optimization of the campaign
  • Work closely with Rubicon Project’s Account and Sales teams to discuss client performance KPIs and strategize on improvements to performance
  • Build relationships with key clients by providing insights and suggestions based on experience managing their campaigns
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science teams to provide feedback around the systems and their performance to help evolve the technology to meet changing industry dynamics
  • Identify and resolve campaign delivery/reporting issues as they arise 


  • Candidate will have  a Bachelor’s degree in math, business, finance or economics being preferred but not required
  • 1-2 years of digital advertising experience a plus, however, will consider less experience (recent graduates) for the right candidate
  • Good understanding of digital media buying KPIs and terms
  • Skilled user of Excel with a knack for solving problems
  • Knowledge of the online media business and emerging advertising technologies a huge plus
  • Strong analytical skills are an absolute must, with the ability to interpret and work well with metrics, numbers and trends
  • Creative self starter with the ability to multi-task and meet objectives in a dynamic environment
