The Design Services Supervisor will be responsible for leading work efforts for design services team members. Provide support of new product innovation as well as sustaining products. Supports business related activities for continuous improvements of design processes, and products. The role supports growth and development of design team members. Support 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software application activities

This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, AR. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to come into the office roughly 3 days/week. You must reside in a commutable distance to our Fort Smith office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Coordinate and drive activities of assigned design team members.
• Assign design team members to support product development and sustaining project teams.
• Review and assign approved engineering change request authorizations to complete necessary updates and development.
• Support implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of engineering software applications.
• Support maintenance of database of approved engineering changes including supporting rational for change, status and
• dates for implementation.
• Provide guidance to Design Services team in the preparation of production drawings and application of engineering
• specifications to assist in developing and implementing engineering changes.
• Provide guidance to Design Services team for conducting regular audits of bill of material to verify accuracy.
• Provide guidance to Design Services team on design of components of a major functional system, aligned with
• manufacturability, cost and performance targets of a given project
• Manage and facilitate the communication process among the various departments to ensure engineering changes are
• implemented with accurate BOM and ERP attributes.
• Support maintenance and development of ISO procedures related to the Engineering Change and Document Control
• functions.
• Working with management and design services team member, develop and maintains standards for design intent and design
• for manufacturing into product design.
• Serve as a mentor and coach to the design services team members.
• Coordinate with other affected groups regarding accuracy of engineering changes, plant substitutions, and material
• substitutions, etc.
• Interpret instructions and company policies to subordinates. Assume responsibilities for maintenance of standard of
• performance and training of new personnel, maintenance and improvements of costs, and control of quality and quantity of
• work of employees.
• Supports and recommends further training of design team members on CAD, PLM, and Change Management software.
• Periodically review nonexempt and exempt employees and recommend for approval merit and/or promotional increase

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU NEED

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years Solidworks/CAD design experience

• Experience in business operating software and high-volume manufacturing environment

• Experience in presenting information to groups, directors, or top management

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations with limited standardization.

• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple assignments at one time

• Working knowledge of materials, assembly lines and fabrication equipment

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Visionary, possessing the drive to succeed
