The candidate for this position will be a senior level Oracle Applications DBA. This position also requires the ability to logically, methodically troubleshoot and problem solve. The candidate will possess the skills necessary to architect, install and properly configure Oracle software solutions as well as mentor others.

Strategy



  • Design the architecture for the system development environments and instances



  • Take a lead role on the team tasked with procuring hardware, system software, and data center co-location space



  • Take a lead role on the team tasked with developing an approach to security, disaster recovery, and failover



  • Define and develop database backup and recovery strategies



  • Develop an approach for patch management and object migration



  • Establish standards that all databases will follow (e.g., naming, configuration, etc.)


Database Administration and Tuning


  • Install the Oracle software in all environments



  • Work with Functional and Technical teams to incorporate functional changes in the system



  • Work with the Technical teams to install patches and upgrades



  • Install, upgrade, and apply patches for RDBMS and Oracle ERP Applications



  • Perform recovery of the database, data files, tables, indexes, etc.



  • Assist in system and database performance monitoring and tuning



  • Implement security for user groups at the database level



  • Review scripts and modify, if necessary, for Rheem standards



  • Monitor databases and provide database, Oracle ERP Application support

  • Recommend training for staff and act as a coach to assist in their learning progress



  • Maintain contact with Oracle support for ERP database issues

Required Education


  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field



  • Required Certification



  • Oracle 12c OCP Certification



  • Oracle EBS R12 OCP Certification



  • Oracle RAC Certification



  • ITIL Certification


Required Experience


  • 10 years of experience performing troubleshooting, performance tuning and automating core DBA tasks.



  • 8 years minimum managing large Oracle E-Business Suite applications and all associated components



  • Minimum of 2 years' experience installing, configuring and managing Golden Gate environments



  • Minimum of 4 years of successful leadership, coordination, and integration of development efforts



  • 4 years of experience designing and architecting Oracle software solutions



  • Minimum of 8 years advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, human factors/usability design, and implementation of medium sized projects or major components of large projects



  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of network systems hardware and software practice and technology



  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with platforms such as LINUX, UNIX, Windows, or other operating systems and native scripting languages


  • Should collaborate with other DBAs, IT team members, and business users. Should have customer service mindset and have appreciation for business dependence on IT. The attitude should be to get the job done despite the challenges while keeping the relations with others intact. Should be able handle stress and deliver under tight deadlines.
