Qualifications:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for incremental product enhancements, design updates, cost improvement initiatives and plant level liaison engineering support for current and new products.

This position will serve our Raypak Division, located in Oxnard, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Direct and conduct all phases of product development and maintenance activities of one or more product lines. Facilitate product change implementation planning and engineering change management for a given product(s).
  • Lead CapEx and budget management for various different projects. Responsible for development and implementation of manufacturing processes, product functionality, and cost efficiency.
  • Determine the type and number of personnel needed for individual products, considering such factors as work to be accomplished, skill of available personnel, present workload and contractual limitations.
  • Responsible for development of equipment and facility layout. Experience with Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing and CIP is a must.
  • Oversee assigned projects and coordinate activities of other affected groups on problems involved in design or engineering changes, material substitutions, etc.
  • Provide direct supervision over assigned staff. Provide performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.


WHAT YOU NEED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or unrelated field.
  • Experience in design and manufacturing of commercial appliance with demonstrated ability to manage product development projects.
  • Must have a proven track record of project related success.
  • Experience in approval agencies, business operating software (i.e., MTMS), project cost management/analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design.
  • Working knowledge of materials, assembly lines and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, resources management and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Pro-Engineer solids modeling software.
  • Knowledge of successful performance management techniques and ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches to lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Understanding of the importance of insightful listening and communicating and ability to provide information and messages in a way that produces clarity and impact.
  • Knowledge of successful performance management techniques and ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches to lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
