Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist

RevZilla is seeking experienced digital marketers to join our Performance Marketing team.  We want to put you in the driver's seat to accelerate our performance marketing efforts, ultimately showing Google, other paid channels, and our competitors who's the champ.

Reporting to the Performance Marketing Manager, this position focuses on execution and development of our in-house managed Paid Search accounts.  As a key driver of RevZilla's hypergrowth, the Performance Marketing team is highly visible within the organization and regularly works across teams including the Analytics, Creative, Video,  and Gear Geek (AKA Customer Service) teams.

Our SEM Specialist will be an analytical thinker crunching the data and driving ROI, but with a creative side to explore new ideas and ad testing.  We’re looking for a Search ninja to optimize our existing campaigns and processes while finding new opportunities for growth in the sea of keywords. RevZilla is on a quest for moto-eCommerce dominance and need someone who hustles by default, sweats the numbers, and is exceptionally detail-oriented to drive the team's marketing visions into reality.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and optimizing Paid Search campaigns across Google AdWords, Bing AdCenter, and Yahoo Gemini
  • Launching new products/campaigns as well as executing time-sensitive promotions/content
  • Executing and monitoring tests (ad copy, landing page, etc)
  • Reporting, analyzing, and providing actionable insights for internal teams
  • Partnering with Analysts to maintain and improve recurring reports/dashboards
  • Leveraging third-party bid management platform to maximize account efficiency
  • Developing/documenting processes for account scaling and maintenance
  • Mentoring supporting team (Coordinators, Interns and cross-functional team partners)

Bag of Tricks (AKA Skills & Qualifications) Required:

  • Minimum 2 years experience managing large scale Paid Search accounts in Google AdWords, Bing AdCenter, and Yahoo Gemini
    • End-to-end campaign management (planning, launch, ad testing, etc.)
    • History of hitting/exceeding monthly KPI goals (eg. revenue, ROAS, spend, etc)
    • Large-scale=multi-platform, sizable keyword lists, large budget, daily optimization, ongoing promotional/content management
  • eCommerce eMarketing management
    • Managing major budget with aggressive revenue growth targets
    • Demonstrated understanding of how to drive KPI's (ROAS, sessions, etc) and optimize to different business goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with: Web Analytics tools (eg. Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics) and Excel
  • Superior communication skills (to express your passion/enthusiasm and otherwise share knowledge)


Extra Credit:

  • Proficiency with 3rd party bid management tools (eg. Kenshoo, Marin)
  • Advanced Excel/database
  • Cross-channel management: PLA/CSE, SEO, Display, Remarketing, Affiliates, Email
