Front-end Engineer

We’re looking for a engineer to lead front-end development. You'd be joining a small team of three engineers, and be able to make a big impact. You'll be working on our core transit planning product, building out new features and refining existing interactions to make sure they're just right. You should be excited about both quickly prototyping new ideas and taking responsibility for our JavaScript codebase. You'll get to work closely with a stellar design team. We also take user research and feedback very seriously, and you'll get to work closely with our users as well.

Technology-wise, the front-end of Remix is built on Ampersand.js and Leaflet.js, a mapping library. It's more important to us that you generally have experience building single-page apps with a Javascript framework such as React or Backbone than experience with the particular libraries we use.

You'd be a good fit if:

  • You have >2 years experience building single-page Javascript applications used by real people.
  • You have a strong eye for detail and believe pixel perfection matters.
  • You are excited about working in a fast-paced environment in a quickly-growing but stable startup.

To apply, send your resume (or LinkedIn profile) and a few words on why you're the right person + what excites you about transit.

We are committed to a workplace that reflects the community we serve. We especially encourage women, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in the tech industry to apply.

See Inside the Office of Remix

Remix is an interactive planning tool that streamlines and informs how public transit routes are designed. Transportation agencies and city governments using Remix can map out new transit scenarios and visualize implications of those scenarios—in terms of cost, for instance, or the demographics of the people who would be affected.
