Chief of Staff

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to serve as a Chief of Staff for our CTO and VP of Product and to be responsible for assisting in organizing their programs. Their groups cover all of Product, Design, Engineering, and even some Operations teams, including but not limited to:

  • Ads Engineering
  • Security Engineering
  • Anti-Evil Engineering (including an operational and Data Science team)
  • Community Operations
  • Core Architecture (Office of the CTO)
  • Core Product
  • Core Design
  • Data Science (including Analytics and Data Engineering)

This role requires not only having a capacity to wrangle product tasks to tie together coherent, cross-functional initiatives, but to also wrangle engineering tasks across the larger engineering organization.  

  • Plan and direct all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the CTO and VP of Product
  • Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the executives to facilitate efficient decision making
  • Act as a point of contact or gatekeeper between top management and other stakeholders
  • Provide oversight and guidance to projects of high importance
  • Coordinate a set of teams across two organizations with diverse responsibilities, and act as a peer to their Directors
  • Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
  • Develop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Aid in distilling goals into OKRs which are measurable, actionable, and ambitious, but achievable.
  • Track and follow up on what appear to be Smouldering Issues and alert before they become fires
  • Be responsible for the “Plan for the Plan”
  • Assist in the hiring and recruiting (and eventually managing) of Technical Project Managers where appropriate
  • Establish and drive cross-functional collaboration opportunities
  • Analyze program risks and track status of initiatives, major and minor
