Email Marketing Manager

Hi, we're Redbubble!

Redbubble begins with the world’s largest collection of artist shops. A shirt with an evil cat. An iPhone case with a hipster pirate. Whatever your thing, Redbubble has an uncommon design that smacks you right in the heart, and it’s available on 57 different products. As for us? We’re passionate, imaginative, and a little offbeat. An inspired mix that’s helped us grow revenues more than 50% in just the past year. (We’re also nice, well-balanced folks with lives outside of work.)  Founded in the Fitzroy neighborhood of Melbourne, Australia, Redbubble now has main offices in the Central Business District of Melbourne, South of Market, San Francisco, and our newest office opening soon in Berlin, Germany.

A wee bit of background:

Our inboxes are intimate spaces. Kinda like our underwear drawer. Ok...maybe not that intimate. But what causes us to open an email and engage with its content says a lot about its timing, awareness of who we are and what we like, and the value it adds to our lives. Engagement is an essential part of Redbubble’s growth engine, and we are looking for an Email Marketing Manager based in San Francisco to deliver on hyper-personalization at scale. Employing a blend of technical marketing, analytics, creative sensibility and campaign management, you will make a big mark on the company and in your career.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns and automated communications in email and other engagement channels, at significant scale
  • Generate recipient lists, implement and monitor A/B tests, perform quality assurance and schedule campaigns
  • Ensure that emails are 100% accessible for all users, on all web browsers and on all mobile devices and email apps
  • Collaborate with designers and copywriters to develop creative assets that deliver results
  • Analyze and report on performance data; recommend and implement appropriate actions based on findings
  • Work closely with others to develop testing strategy and hypotheses; manage deployment schedule and lists to optimize user engagement
  • Lead the way in moving Redbubble from mass, batched messaging campaigns to hyper-personalized, triggered messages

You Are:

  • A technical marketer seeking your next big challenge, currently working on email marketing at a consumer internet or software company
  • Incredibly meticulous; a balance of intense attention to detail and swift execution
  • Ruthlessly organized; you strive toward the most efficient system
  • Able to quickly identify patterns in campaign performance and analysis and know how to use them to advance our approaches
  • Someone who loves to take ownership of campaigns and deliver results; recognizes that failure is a critical component of growth; reports all data honestly and analyzes successes and failures in order to enhance and evolve
  • Autonomous and capable of solving difficult problems; you wouldn’t hesitate to ask for help when needed

What you’ll bring to the bubble:

  • 3+ years of related work experience, at least one of which as a marketer or product manager focused on email or user engagement
  • A track record of implementing effective email marketing strategies
  • Deep experience using enterprise email service providers (e.g. Sailthru, Responsys, ExactTarget) and web/mobile app analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
  • Experience with pulling and manipulating data to prepare regular performance reports in order to synthesize results and to make recommendations based on your findings
  • Solid spreadsheet capabilities including functions, pivot tables and lookups
