DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to support and scale our industry-leading SaaS platform and transitioning the team to a `platform team’. The Engineering Operations Team drives activities and processes that help the engineering organization run effectively, efficiently and in support of business strategies and objectives. We accomplish our mission by using diverse skills and engineering practices.  As a part of the Engineering Operations team you’ll own and drive best practices in the organization and be a rockstar to the developers!

Responsibilities:

  • Build platforms!
  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing in AWS
  • Expand and improve our build and release automation process
  • Work with our team to define and implement security best practices
  • Act as escalation point for Engineering to ensure quick and efficient resolution
  • Participate in the 24/7 on call rotation

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in DevOps or Software Engineering with in-depth working knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Experience building and maintaining production systems on AWS using EC2, RDS, S3, VPC etc. and familiarity interacting with AWS APIs
  • Expert level knowledge of at least one configuration management system (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in networking and security (TCP/IP, IPSec, VPC)
  • Experience with running Nginx, JVM, NodeJS and similar technologies in a production environment
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and ability to architect workflows in Jenkins
  • Experience with Docker tooling and ecosystem
  • Expertise in a scripting language such as Python or Bash
  • Hands on experience with monitoring and metrics gathering (CloudWatch, NewRelic, Splunk, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes, or AWS ECS
  • Exposure and familiarity with Spark, Hadoop, AWS EMR
  • Experience with Elasticsearch at scale
  • AWS Certification preferred
