Test Engineer

QSC is seeking electrical engineers looking for a challenging Test Engineer position in networked audio video solutions in our Boulder, Colorado office. Individuals will work with cross functional engineers located globally to do: Pre-product bench level testing and debugging, design and develop automated test solution for manufacturing.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Electrical Engineering; Masters preferred (or equivalent education)
  • At least 3 years in electronics industry (design or manufacturing)
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical test methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to understand the analog/digital circuits and schematics
  • Experience with Audio, Video and network applications
  • Solid understanding about test manufacturing processes and other process or methodologies in the electronics industry
  • Familiarity with instrumentation used for functional testing automation (i.e. Signal Generators, High Speed Digital Scopes, Audio Analyzers, Video Analyzer, AC power supplies, electronic loads, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
  • Cross-functional team work experience
  • LabVIEW Software programming proficiency strongly desired (or VB/C#.NET)
  • High standards for quality and excellence
  • Ability to travel 10-20% (within North America)
  • Ability to travel 20-30% (outside US for contract manufacturing locations and design partners)
  • Experience with Cadence, Corelis ScanExpress and Audio Precision, HDMI audio and video testing equipment and software
  • Experience with audio DSP applications and JTAG Boundary Scan testing
  • Cisco networking certifications preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and feedback the product requirements during the concept and planning phase of new product development
  • During design phase, review and analyze the hardware / system design and provide DFT and provide suggestion to maximize the testing effectiveness
  • Work with cross functional engineers internal to QSC or offshore design partners to draft and execute the test plan for DVT, SVT and Manufacturing
  • Develop test procedures, test hardware and software platforms and test specifications
  • Work closely with design engineering to test and debug product features during new product development and introduction
  • Work with design and quality to develop a test approach and strategy for a subassembly, product and/or suite of products
  • Be a point of escalation for critical technical issues that occur in production
  • Implement and deploy test solutions at contract manufacturers
  • Provide training to team members in design and manufacturing
