Q-Centrix is implementing a robust data infrastructure solution to further advance our mission of unlocking the value of clinical data – building innovative tools, analytics, and research initiatives for the healthcare ecosystem. We aim to build an industry-leading data model that sits at the center of all of our various data collection efforts. As part of that journey, we’re hiring a Data Architect to create clinical data models and data architecture.

Reporting to the Senior Clinical Data Architect, you will collaborate with clinical subject matter experts, product owners, and data scientists to design existing data into one data model that is consistent with industry standards. This model will enable research and operational efficiencies for Q-Centrix and our customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and document new clinical data model. Contribute to the clinical concept mapping across cardiovascular, oncology, and surgical datasets.
  • Evaluate existing clinical models (OMOP, FHIR, CDISC BRIDG) for our Q-Centrix use cases.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and clinical subject matter experts to gather requirements and ensure business needs are met.
  • Create a Master Patient Index to match patients across registries and facilities to enable analysis on the full spectrum of care.
  • Document database structural requirements.
  • Create logical models, physical entity-relationship models, data dictionaries, and data reference guides.
  • Ensure consistent and disciplined data governance and change management process.
  • Design data architectures that optimize for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Provide data support by responding to user questions and resolving problems.
  • Stay current with changes and updates within the industry.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline or engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience creating and maintaining data models.
  • Portfolio of prior data modelling demonstrating your deep domain experience.
  • Strong relational DBMS, SQL skills, documentation skills, and ER modeling experience.
  • Data governance and change management experience.
  • Understanding of Master Patient Index methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Experience with structured and unstructured clinical data originating in hospital information systems (primarily registry data, EMR’s, and FHIR/HL7).
  • Experience with healthcare vocabularies, data standards, and ontologies.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Continuous sitting and fine manipulation.

Travel Requirements: 5%

The target salary range for this role is $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year, plus an annual bonus targeted at 5% of the team member’s annual salary. An individual’s salary within this range is based on multiple factors including but not limited to skills, experiences, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational considerations. Salary ranges are reviewed, at minimum, annually and all team members are eligible for performance-based salary increases during our organization’s annual review period. The annual bonus payout may be higher or lower than target, dependent on individual and company performance and is considered variable pay.
