Workday Configuration Lead – Absence, Benefits & Advanced Compensation

The Workday Configuration Lead – Absence, Benefits & Advanced Compensation is responsible for leading functional projects and configuration activities for new Workday projects and enhancements. S/he will have deep expertise in Absence, Benefits and Advanced Compensation functionality in Workday. This role requires deep functional process knowledge to understand complex absence/time-off rules, global benefit policies and merit/bonus plans and translate them into Workday configuration (plans and business processes).

  • Serve as an expert in Workday configuration and ensure the successful implementation of new functionality and/or processes within project timelines.
  • Manage the deliverables, scope of work and quality for the Absence, Benefits and Advanced Compensation workstreams
  • Conduct design sessions with Subject Matter Experts, Functional Lead(s) and/or project sponsor(s) to understand strategic direction and business requirements
  • Configure & test new Workday functionality per requirements
  • Develop thorough documentation of requirements, conceptual design, and end-to-end processes
  • Develop high-quality deliverables and presentations for review with stakeholders to communicate key business process concepts
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in the development, testing and implementation of enhancements/releases (new integrations, Workday updates, etc.)
  • Lead specific annual events related to the key workstreams, such as Open Enrollment for Benefits and Merit/Bonus process for Compensation and annual true-ups for vacation tracking
  • Liaise with Corporate IT and Change Management partners
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels in the organization to enable effective utilization of Workday

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years overall experience in supporting enterprise HRIS applications
  • 3+ years experience in configuration and implementation of Workday HCM solutions (HCM, Absence, Benefits, and Compensation)
  • Previous consulting experience in implementing Workday at a global client with complex requirements

Education: Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline

Skills:

  • Workday training in one or more of the support areas: Absence, Benefits or Advanced Compensation; Workday Certification in one or more of the support areas a plus
  • Deep knowledge of Workday HCM functional and business process configuration and testing
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a process orientation – ability to capture and document processes via both narratives and diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
  • Demonstrated project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards
