Technical Designer, Dress Furnishings Group - PVH Corp.

Technical Designer is responsible for the garment uniformity and consistency as it pertains to fit, construction and quality. Interfaces with all cross functional teams, partners closely with design team to understand product aesthetic and works closely with global partners to clearly communicate the design intent for the initial proto development. Leads the fit session, drives the fit approval process with NY and Hub teams, and is responsible for making technical recommendations to cross functional partners while maintaining design intent and product commercialization.


  • Collaborate with designers to determine aesthetic and fit details.
  • Creates initial tech packs in Web PDM for proto development and models across all styles.
  • Responsible to execute design and fit intent into commercially acceptable proto's while maintaining brand's identity and quality.
  • Effectively communicates technical recommendations and drives tech pass off meetings and fit sessions. Facilitates conversations educating cross functional partners.
  • Drives the proto approval process, communicates fit comments and corrections to global technical partners.
  • Maintains fit consistency across all brands within the division.
  • Strong pattern making and grading knowledge across different size ranges
  • Makes recommendations on different construction techniques to enhance the fit and product aesthetic
  • Act as liaison between NY cross functional teams and overseas hubs.
  • Creates and maintains block and pattern library to leverage good fit blocks across multiple brands.
  • Strong understanding of markers and ability to drive the YPU's with vendors to support cross functional teams during costing exercise.
  • Ability to pro-actively trouble shoot and problem solve.
  • Creating and ensuring calendar adherence and deliverables are met.
  • Manage fit proto's, sample tracking, process and partner with supply chain team seasonally for all fit proto's.
  • Align organizational needs with vendor capabilities.
  • Drives for continual improvement and innovation to enhance product quality, fit and process effectiveness.
  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • 5+ years minimum industry experience in technical design
  • Experience in illustrating pattern corrections using illustrator or other drawing tools

Education: Bachelors of Science in Technical Design/Apparel Production preferred or equivalent manufacturing experience


  • Effective Communication- excellent verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of garment manufacturing process.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi task.
  • Strong computer skills ( preferred programs Web PDM, PLM, Accumark, Illustrator and Excel)
