Project Manager, Global Store Design & Planning - CALVIN KLEIN

The Project Manager, Global Store Design & Planning is responsible for supporting the overall development and implementation of specific architectural projects owned and operated by Calvin Klein and/or its majority partners. This role will primarily involve project oversight/structure, with ongoing coordination of consultant teams and the tracking of project documentation, budgets, and schedules. Some construction administration may be involved depending on project location.

This position will work in close collaboration with the Creative Services team to engage architecture as a primary branding vehicle for Calvin Klein environments. The majority of projects will be generator/seed models for new concepts developed in collaboration between the CCO (Chief Creative Officer) and external designers.


  • Assists the SVP, Global Store Design & Planning, in creating and thereafter supervising project teams for the design and execution of architectural projects
  • Develops and tracks/manages project budgets and schedules, assisting the SVP in multiple high profile projects simultaneously
  • Reviews project information (architectural drawings, other design drawings, contracts, etc.) for integrity and quality control
  • Prepares project execution scenarios and procurement plans; assist the SVP in reviewing schematic design, design development and construction document packages
  • Coordinates project phasing and delivery with outside consultants such as concept designer, architect (concept and local), lighting designer, MEP engineers, owner's representative, contractor, millworker, etc.
  • Supports the SVP in meetings with suppliers and vendors in all project phases
  • Ensures close-out documentation and project archives are completed
  • May engage on real estate location aspects once selected by others, and may form opinions on location options and specifics of tenant leases
  • As occurs, will assist in creating bid packages and selecting contractors and sub-contractors
  • Performs a department-wide role in developing and tracking schedules for new retail concept documentation in preparation for release to regional teams and partners.
  • On some projects, this role will include a site presence during construction to ensure directives and priorities of the CCO and SVP are prioritized and carried out
  • Depending on project load, may assist SVP in communicating departmental activity with global partners through newsletters, collaborative database, or other
  • Some travel as needed to coordinate construction issues and deliver architectural projects globally



  • 7 years or more prior planning and construction experience in the retail design field
  • Work history should include a lengthy formative experience in an architectural firm, construction industry or in-house store planning team for a fashion brand

Education: Masters or B.A. in Architecture, and/or Construction Project Management Training


  • Possess high aesthetics and a keen eye for high quality, high-end specialty store design
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Experienced in project scheduling and budgets; must be very familiar with Microsoft Project or similar Gantt chart programs and Excel or similar for budgeting
  • Excellent time management skills and interpersonal skills. Must have an excellent presence with people, as the position requires interfacing with many persons inside and outside of the Company
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Essential that the candidate have extremely strong organizational skills; he/she should be very precise, systematic, and comprehensive in overall approach to all responsibilities/accountabilities of the job
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure
  • Must have computer skills typical of architectural and construction professionals: Autocad, basic 3D rendering, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar
