Ecommerce Infrastructure & DevOps Jr. Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include maintenance and support of computer systems in the Ecommerce environment as well as implementation of technologies and processes that are in line with "infrastructure as code" best practices.

The PVH Ecommerce team develops systems that must meet all the performance and security expectations of demanding external customers and also reliably interface with internal and external systems. This infrastructure role builds the foundation for those systems and includes
System maintenance to keep software levels current and ensure physical and virtual environments are maintained to meet requirements with regards to configuration, security, resource monitoring, troubleshooting, updating and capacity planning.
System support involves responding to changing conditions of servers and applications as well as changing requirements from business, security, and IT organizations within PVH.
The DevOps Engineer will use software development tools and processes to meet those missions with increased reliability, scalability, and agility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Work with the Ecommerce team, PVH IT and external partners on operation, configuration, maintenance, planning, and development of our Ecommerce platform and supporting applications as implemented in private cloud infrastructure
Provide technical support for the Ecommerce system infrastructure
Implement and administer security measures and processes in the environments, support security auditing
Document operational, installation and configurations standards
Participate in automated deployments using CI/CD tooling
Participate in system and application monitoring
Participate in performance tuning exercises
Research, evaluate, recommend and implement automation improvements based upon application needs and business growth
Work closely with other groups to coordinate support activities

Specific requirements for an eCommerce Infrastructure Operations Analyst role include:

  • Conduct and participate infrastructure review with internal teams like Security, Audit etc.
  • Research industry best-practices around infrastructure DevOps and incorporate into the eCommerce process.
  • Collaborate with vendors operating the ecommerce framework for Europe, Asia to streamline patch and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate across global and regional ecommerce teams to ensure standard set of infrastructure tools and process are put in place

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
5+ years in IT with 3+ years working in a DevOps capacity

Education:
This position requires a BS-level degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Skills:
The ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, is critical for this position. Experience with most of the following technologies is expected:

TCP/IP Networking (DNS, Client/Server communication, load balancing, CDNs, etc.)
Linux Server Support (Access, scripting, OS Patching, storage management, etc.)
Enterprise virtual environments (Host and Guest virtualization, centralized SAN Storage, Containerization, etc.)
J2EE technologies (Middleware application management, Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, Webservices, etc.)
Security practices, standards, and tools (file integrity, access management, centralized logging, policy management, etc.)
Development and deployment support (Repository management, continuous integration, orchestration, automation, etc.)
