POSITION TITLE: Assistant Warehouse Manager

POSITION REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: An Assistant Warehouse Manager shares in the overall responsibility for shipping and receiving merchandise, maintaining organizational standards, controlling expenses and shortages, and recruiting and developing staff

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Oversee Receiving / Shipping - Processing HUB, 3rd-party deliveries, Transfers
  • Maintain an accurate inventory list of styles
  • Understand and comply with all company policy, procedures and operations
  • Maintain the highest level of security and safety awareness within the warehouse
  • Execute and follow-up on the Inventory Shrinkage Improvement Program
  • Manage all controllable expenses, including the allocation of payroll
  • Monitor payroll daily to ensure all hours are accounted for and can be explained
  • Maintain warehouse appearance to reflect division standard
  • Replenish merchandise on a timely basis as requested by stores
  • Have knowledge of the store merchandise
  • Keep management informed of all merchandise-related issues
  • Maintain warehouse organization merchandise/fixtures/hardware/general cleanliness
  • Represent the Division image through personal and professional appearance
  • Support Company/Management decision
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring warehouse associates who have strong presentation and communication skills representative of the Divisions image
  • Develop all associates to be knowledgeable in areas of product, operations and growth within the company
  • Act as a liaison for corporate communications (Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Operations, Merchants) in the absence of the warehouse manager
  • Warehouse mgmt should visit the stores stockrooms once weekly
  • Designated driver to transport from warehouse to retail store

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Internal: Retail Stores, HR, Loss Prevention, Operations
External: Merchants, 3rd party deliveries

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Executes markdowns and re-merchandise as needed
  • Maximize sales volume by ensuring store replenishment pulls are done accurately, and timely.
  • Identify and implement warehouse strategies and initiatives to achieve and exceed store sales goals.

DECISION MAKING:
  • Work with the stores to analyze and react to the needs of the business, identify top sellers, slow sellers and fulfillment of merchandising strategy

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:
  • Recognize problems, analyze causes, generate alternatives and solutions

ENVIRONMENT:
  • Warehouse environment
  • Move the merchandise in bakers racks and rolling racks
  • At times may use the lift gate on truck

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Skills:
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Develop proficiency in all operational policies and procedures
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Manage productivity and efficiencies for each store team
